What is a LED?
LED - Light Emitting Diode – is an electrical component. A LED is a semiconductor diode that emits light when an electric current is applied in the forward direction of the device.
Regular light bulbs produce light by heating a filament, thus around 80% of the energy required is wasted on heat production rather than creating light.

The LEDs use by DST work via Direct Current (DC) and therefore do not flicker and produce light that is healthier and easier on the eye.
